Are you a woman living with an autoimmune disease?
Are you currently suffering from a chronic illness?
Has your life changed drastically due to an uncontrollable and unpreventable health condition?
Have you had to encourage yourself to #GETUP and push past the pain?
Have you decided that your diagnosis does NOT define you and your purpose is greater than your pain?
I'm Whitney - mother to Malachi (who's eight years old), entrepreneur and multi-bestselling author. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, both autoimmune conditions. These chronic conditions have led me to experience joint pain, muscle weakness, extreme fatigue, face rash, mouth and nose ulcers, nausea, headaches, hair thinning, chest pain, and more.
As you can imagine, upon first experiencing these symptoms and subsequently learning about my diagnoses, I was overwhelmed and sad. I felt forsaken and forgotten. All I wanted to do was lay in bed and feel sorry for myself. Recognizing this wouldn't change anything regarding my circumstances, I knew I needed to #getup. My son needs me. I need me. There is so much more work I have to do on this earth. God didn't bring me this far just to bring me this far.
Now, every time I think I'm going to take a moment to wallow in shame, I tell myself, "girl, get up!" It has become my mantra.
I recognize that there are so many other women across the globe battling health issues beyond their control. Each day, they too are encouraging themselves to #getup and keep going. We are all inspired by them.
In fact, if you're one of them, I'm inviting you to join The Girl, Get Up Movement. There's another population of women who unfortunately are not inspired to #getup. They lack the encouragement and support that some of us have along this journey. But as women, it's our job to uplift one another.
If you're ready to share your #getup story to motivate the next woman struggling on her journey of battling autoimmune disease, chronic illness or pain, I invite you to register for the Zoom call to learn more about participating.
Your story is about you, but it's not for you. Let's put it out in the world for the woman who really needs it! I can't wait to learn about your #getup story!
xoxo,
